Social Events
Social Events between meetings can range from sporting events, live theatre, travel, visits to places of interest, to any other activity that the Social Committee wishes to organize. These are usually one time events, one per month generally, but you can participate in as many events as you wish!
JUNE SOCIAL REPORT
on June 17th, the Social Committee arranged a lovely bus trip to Niagara on the Lake with lunch at the Prince of Wales Hotel and a matinee performance of Funny Girl at the Shaw Festival Theatre.

HAWAIIAN LUAU PARTY
Following the monthly meeting at Hope Church, Tuesday January 20, many Probus members gathered for an afternoon of delicious tropical food, fun and laughs. After the meal, we were entertained by Lakeside Ukes ukulele band.

RCMP Musical RIDE – Sunday, July 19th, 2026. AJAX DOWNS RACE TRACK. This is a self drive and self- directed outing that we are just drawing your attention to. Tickets available online at ajaxdowns.ticketpro.ca or for more information visit ajaxdowns.com Adult advance purchase $20.00 plus a $3.00 fee, taxes included. Child advanced purchase $15.00 plus $3.00 fee, taxes included. Ticket price increases July 17th. Please be advised that even though you may have purchased advanced tickets, this does not guarantee a seat. There is no reserved seating. So please be aware, if you do sit in the seating area and you leave your seat, someone else can sit in that spot. Please read times of all events as they are subject to change. HOLD THE DATE - Monday, August 3, 2026 – Celebration of Speed at Mosport (Canadian Tire Motorsport Park), 3233 Concession Road, 10, Bowmanville. HOLD THE DATE - Wednesday, August 5, 2026 –Summer Picnic and Concert in the Park – Please join us for a picnic and civic concert featuring Irwin Smith. We will be having Burgers and Pizza. Contribution of salads and or desserts are always welcome and appreciated. Ice cream or ice lollies will also be offered again this year. Cost $10.00 per person. The event will proceed rain or shine. HOLD THE DATE -Thursday, September 24, 2026 – Scavenger Hunt & Potluck Lunch - Get ready for it. We listened to you. You wanted a return of The Scavenger Hunt and Pot Luck Lunch. Meet at Hope Church to sign in, drop of a potluck food contribution either main or dessert and sign a waiver at 8.30 am. This year’s theme is yet to be decided. No repeat of last years costumes. Of course, if you need partners, we will always try to team you up to make a foursome.

Girls Nite Out” event at the Regent Theatre, Oshawa is the all female stand-up and improv comedy show. Girls Nite Out is a celebrated all-female comedy troupe that delivers a fast paced mix of stand-up and improvisation. The show celebrates women, friendship, and the hilarious realities if life.
